Imperial Trade Mission - R2D2 In Star Trek


Did you know that George Lucas's little "Star Wars" Astrodroid makes several cameo appearances in the new Star Trek movie? Well, he does.

This is not really new, but it is fun. Back in the 1970s, R2D2 made cameo appearances in big movies, like 1977's "Close Encounters Of The Third Kind."

(Here, I'll show you - Little R2D2 clings upside-down to the underside of the CE3K Mother Ship, as it first appears, gliding over Devil's Tower. R2's dead-center of the screen, 9 seconds into this clip).

In the most recent "Star Trek" movie, R2D2 can be seen through a blast hole in the ship's hull in a battle scene, just before the destruction of Vulcan, and he also flies by in the recent "Transformers" movie.
